Game codes

SEGA's ALLS cabinets each report a four-letter code, and that code is what names the dump, the ICF file, the option folder, the segatools release tag and the error messages. Getting it wrong is the most common reason a dump won't boot — amGfetcherInit(). ErrCode -1 almost always means the ICF is for a different game than the data.

The mapping below is from amnet-shared/src/gameIds.ts in the amnet project, which is an ALL.Net server implementation, so it's the same table the network layer uses.

Native display modes

From the SEGAguide FAQ. Your monitor refresh rate has to match the game's exactly or you get monitor errors 3400/3401.

Mode Codes
1080x1920@60 (portrait) SDED, SDDT
1920x1080@60 SDBT, SDHD (CVT) / SDGS, SDEJ, SDDS, SDGT
1920x1080@120 SDHD (SP mode)
2160x1920@60 SDEZ / SDGA

CHUNITHM CVT 120fps does not work.

Cabinet regions

segatools emulates the AMEX board's DS EEPROM, which carries the region as a bit mask: 1 Japan, 4 Export, 8 China, 2 is dead code. The serial prefix also encodes the hardware series — AAV Nu, AAW NuSX, ACA ALLS.

Not in the table

SDEJ appears in the display-mode list but not in the game-ID table, and segatools lists a few titles with no ALLS code at all (crossbeats REV., Eiketsu Taisen, Fate/Grand Order, Kemono Friends, Mario & Sonic, Sangokushi Taisen, ALL.Net P-ras MULTI). Those are either pre-ALLS or use a different numbering scheme; check the segatools release tag for the title instead of guessing a code.
