CHUNITHM (SDHD)

Japanese CHUNITHM. Runs on the SEGA ALLS (Nu) platform, cabinet code SDHD. The international build is SDGS, the Chinese one SDHJ, and the pre-NEW line is SDBT — same game data family, different cabinet.

Supports up to CHUNITHM PARADISE LOST per the segatools supported-games list.

Base

Everything is on gdtm Sega/CHUNITHM JP (SDHD)/, one folder per title in the series.

Setup

Full walkthrough lives in the segatools chunihook doc. The short version, for a data release that unpacks to app/, option/, amfs/:

  1. Clear read-only flags on the game files.
  2. Run your ALL.Net server in the background before first boot. The game must be "blessed" by a server once or the title screen spins forever.
  3. Unpack segatools into app/bin/.
  4. Create an appdata/ folder next to app/. This is not Windows APPDATA.
  5. Point the loader at all three directories:
[vfs]
amfs=../../amfs
appdata=../../appdata
option=../../option
  1. In [dns], set default= to your hostname or LAN IP. Not 127.0.0.1 — the game rejects loopback explicitly.
  2. Run launch.bat as Administrator once. Hex dumps in the console are a good sign. Expect a red LED error on screen — segatools does not emulate the cabinet's RGB strips, so dismiss it with the touch strip.
  3. Press 1 for the operator menu, then ゲーム設定 → 配信サーバー設定 → set to サーバー (Server), and 筐体グループ設定 → OFF. Restart when prompted.

The Server/Client setting is the cabinet's role on the shop LAN: exactly one machine per group must be the Distribution Server, and clients will not finish booting until they find one. Normally a DIP switch on the Nu chassis, but CHUNITHM sets it from the operator menu instead, and it defaults to Client after an NVRAM reset.

Notes

  • dipsw1=1 in segatools.ini (dipsw1=0 for SDED) is what gets the game past the "checking distribution server" hang. For cab-2-cab, CHUNITHM wants subnet 192.168.139.0 with Server on .11 and the three satellites on .12, .13, .14 — the addrSuffix must match the last octet.
  • Monitor refresh must match exactly. CVT 60, SP 60 or SP 120. CVT 120 does not work and gives errors 3400/3401. Native mode is 1920x1080@60, or 1920x1080@120 in SP.
  • Hard-locked 01:30–07:00 JST by a JST lockout. The red 本日のプレイ受付は終了しました banner means "play acceptance has ended for today" — you're outside Japanese operating hours, so the clock needs faking (see [clock] timewarp in segatools.ini).
  • Error 320X means you touched the Air Sensors. That's the game telling you off for touching the Air Sensors.
  • Errors 3101/3102 are the chuni controller, not the game: check chuniio sees it and try another USB port.
  • Courses need server-side support that may not be implemented in your server.
  • Character unlocks: pick any map other than the default and the other characters become available as map rewards.
  • Error 0800 (spamming "Cannot get accounting info" in the AM Daemon window) is usually a non-ASCII Windows username — segatools writes accounting info under C:\Users\<username>\temp.
  • Free Play lives in the Nu system supervisor program, which segatools does not ship.
